Fellowship, Observership, Visitorship

The Regensburg Fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery is one of the longest standing and most reputable training programs in Europe.

The 12 month comprehensive training program forms part of the Global Alliance of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Certification Boards certification process through:

The European Board for Certification in Facial Plastic Surgery (EBCFPRS.org),
The International Board for Certification in Facial Plastic Surgery (IBCFPRS.org) and / or
The American Board for Certification in Facial Plastic Surgery (ABFPRS.org).

The fellowship forms part of the world´s most advanced training, examination and certification system in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. An integral part is the exam of the US Board ABFPRS, which is administered with regional adjustments by the European Board EBCFPRS every year in Hohenkammer (Munich).

Qualifying candidates have completed their specialty training before the start of the fellowship. The Regensburg program accepts candidates specialized in ORL, OMFS or GPS. The training includes all segments of the spectrum of facial plastic surgery.

The fellowship is offered to a national and an international candidate. The national candidate must have a full and valid German medical license. The national fellow is engaged in call and holiday coverage.

The international fellowship does not require a full German medical license. The international fellow is not engaged in call or holiday coverage.

Examination and certification through EBCFPRS / IBCFPRS / Global Alliance is obligatory. Additional patronage through regional societies such as RSE or EAFPS and additional qualifications through other diplomas and exams may be sought at the fellow´s discretion.

The Finesse Center Fellowship program is structured as follows:

Surgical training: Observational and assisting only: Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Face Lift, Endoscopic Brow Lift, Otoplasty, Facial reconstruction, Hair restoration, Laser, Scar revision
Medical training: Pre – operative counseling, post – operative care, computer simulation, botox, fillers, PRP, resurfacing, needling
Scientific training: Retrospective studies, anatomic studies, clinical studies, review articles.
Academic training: Course and conference organization, rhetorics, presentations, teaching media.

The academic year is January 1st through December 31st. Please submit your application to sekretariat.gassner@gmail.com. Application includes your CV and a brief letter of interest. Observerships of shorter duration may be available and require the same initial application with CV and letter. Please view the Fellowship Sheet for more information.

As part of the fellowship training program, a rotation at one of the cooperating centres listed below may be arranged.
